More multinational companies are setting up outside the capital.

With a housing shortage that doesn’t look like it is going to be solved anytime soon and rising costs of living, more multinational companies are looking to setup outside of Ireland’s capital.

Last week, US tech firm Overstock told Fora about its plan to attract talent to Sligo after deciding to create 100 new jobs for its R&D operations. It is in good company with other US tech companies such as E3 Retail and LiveTiles recently setting up in the town.

Last week Career Zoo, one of Ireland’s largest career events, took place in the midland’s town with organisers stating that Athlone’s lower cost of living and lifestyle makes it an attractive place to live.

With things getting heated in the capital and employers looking elsewhere too, we’re asking Fora readers this week: would you move out of Dublin to elsewhere in Ireland for work?
