With a quick check of a phone or the opening of a laptop, it has never been easier to make sure that nothing is missed back at the office, even in the evenings or while on holiday.
While it might be much easier to catch up on work when away from the desk, constant connectivity could also have its downsides. As mobile devices make it more difficult than ever to switch off, a constant stream of emails can weight heavily on the work-life balance scales.
Aside from being distracting, always being switched on could also put a strain on employees at a time of increasing attention on potential issues such as burnout.
