Even recruiters are scrambling for staff as a major agency plans to take on 150 people
Sigmar Recruitment says the expansion is due to a surge in demand from multinationals.
DUBLIN-BASED RECRUITMENT agency Sigmar Recruitment is set to more than double in size as it looks to take on 150 employees.
The new jobs will boost the company’s workforce from 120 to 270 by the end of 2018.
It is expected that 50 of the positions will be hired for by the end of the year, while the remainder will be split between 2017 and 2018.
The positions will be in recruitment, sales and digital marketing. Sigmar said that it is looking for people at both “experienced and graduate levels”, adding that there would be a “significant” number of positions available outside of Dublin, including Cork, Galway and Kerry.
Multinational demand
Sigmar said that the demand for new staff is largely due to a surge in demand for talent by US companies who are expanding internationally from Ireland.
Sigmar chief commercial officer Robert Mac Giolla Phádraig said: “This investment is a high-value play to help some of the fastest growing companies in the world find the best talent in the world from here in Ireland.”
The company saw its turnover rise to €18.3 million in the 12 months to the end of 2014, up from just under €15 million the year before, while its full year profit rose from €835,000 to slightly over €900,000.
More hiring
Many recruitment companies have seen an upswing in their fortunes in line with the economy as businesses, particularly multinationals, shift into growth mode.
Last week, recruitment firm Hays, which is active in the UK and Ireland, said it expected full-year operating profit of about £180 million, ahead of market expectations.
There has also been a surge in companies looking for highly-skilled jobs, so much so that Dublin-listed recruiter CPL Resources recently set up a new company geared towards hiring senior executives within the Irish business sector.
