EVERY WEEK, THERE seems to be a new story about data breaches and cyber-attacks affecting all types of businesses, from social media giants to hotels.

The problem is only growing with the value of cybercrime damage expected to hit €4.85 trillion annually by 2021, according to figures released by research firm Cybersecurity Ventures.

Last week, WhatsApp came under scrutiny after a Financial Times report revealed that hackers could insert spyware onto phones through a vulnerability in the app’s voice calling feature.

Meanwhile TheJournal.ie recently revealed that tens of thousands of Irish Facebook users had their contact details and other sensitive data accessed in a major hack of the social network last year.

With that in mind, we’re asking Fora readers this week: Would you stop using a service that has undergone a major data breach?
