Poll: Are multinationals a more attractive employer than Irish businesses?

Multinationals are transforming the local jobs market.

WHILE IRELAND’S MULTINATIONAL cohort is lauded as a key part of the economy, the giants have also transformed the Irish jobs market. 

The competition for talent is hotting up, as Irish businesses find themselves fighting against large multinationals for employees. 

A survey last week by IrishJobs.ie, in partnership with Universum, suggested that many college graduates overlook Irish companies in favour of the multinationals. Creative and media agencies are also finding it hard to hang on to staff as the so-called FAANGs – the quintet of Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google – prove attractive. 

With that in mind, this week we are asking Fora readers:  Are multinationals a more attractive employer than Irish businesses?
